Dreamers
An essay about the poem called “Dreamers”
(TS) As I read the poem, “Dreamers” I think of what soldiers went through and what they still go through. (TS) This line of the poem really explains this, “And in the ruined trenches, lashed by rain.” (CM) This explains all of what those people go through because to have to stay in this muddy hole and stay there all day and try to fight for their life must be a very hard thing. (CM) When I read this sentence I get a picture in my head off all these people trying to stay alive in the poring rain and how horrible that must be. (TS) Another image that I get as I read this poem is how all the soldiers missed their lives back home. (CM) When the soldiers were in the trenches they probably thought about how much they missed their family and everything that they did with them. (CM) When I read this section I can really imagine how much they missed things back home, “Dreaming of things they did with balls and bats, And mocked by hopeless longing to regain Bank-holidays, and picture shows, and spats. In this section of the poem I get a strong picture of them thinking about all that. (CS) Just thinking for a few minutes about what the soldiers have done for us, and are still doing we should be even more appreciative then we are know.
